About Montessori Education

Montessori schools are growing in number, and key Montessori ideas are being integrated into many public schools and universities. With that growing interest and acceptance come questions and misconceptions. This page gathers the questions we hear most often from families, answered plainly. If your question is not here, ask us.

CONNECT

You can find us at 9006 Anderson Mill Rd, Austin, TX 78729. Come see the rooms, meet the teachers, and watch a morning in progress before you decide. Call or email to schedule a visit. We are glad to answer whatever you are still wondering about.

What this looks like in practice

A morning here has a shape. Children arrive, settle, and choose work from open shelves. A guide observes, gives a lesson, or sits with a small group. There are long stretches of uninterrupted time, then outdoor play, lunch, rest, and an afternoon that closes gently.

When children choose their own work and finish it, they carry that home. A four-year-old who pours her own water at school wants to do it at the kitchen table. The questions parents bring us often start there, at the sink, with a child who insists on doing it himself.
